How We Got Here
Slabtown Labs LLC operates out of the historic Slabtown neighborhood in Portland, Oregon. This business is built on hard work, survival, and absolute independence.
Matthew James Fay grew up with a deep drive to build things. He graduated from Auburn Senior High School in 2006. Soon after, he fell into a deep, brutal battle with severe addiction. It cost him years. It took almost everything.
He didn’t break. Matthew fought his way back to absolute, razor-sharp clarity. He learned exactly what it means to be dependent on something. He resolved never to let anyone or anything hold leverage over him or his partners again. He built Slabtown Labs LLC to give musicians and businesses a direct, honest partner they can actually trust.

We believe that if you write and perform the music, you should own it. We do not take your copyrights. We help you build a professional studio record, get it online, track down every cent of royalties, and retain 100% of your ownership.
2. Absolute Data Sovereignty
Large technology companies want you to upload your voices, designs, and notes to their cloud systems. They use your creative work to train their systems without paying you.

Our physical office on Marshall Street is designed entirely for productivity. It is not a country club or a place to hang out. It is a high-horsepower workshop where creative work actually gets done.
We blend vintage analog character with modern, lightning-fast digital pipelines. High-end tube microphones and physical console preamps sit right alongside local graphic processing units.
This setup allows us to move instantly from tracking a live vocal performance to rendering a high-definition video campaign or compiling offline code databases. We keep our physical footprint small and our technological capabilities massive.
